Transportation Request 2025-2026
If your student requires special transportation on an EC bus, or other specialized bussing STOP HERE.
DO NOT complete this form. EC students needing transportation as a related service must contact your student's teacher or caseworker for more information on transportation services.
If your child plans to ride a bus for the start of the 2025-2026 school year, please complete this form.
ALL information entered will be verified via INFINITE CAMPUS before any request is processed.
- Asheville City Schools will provide transportation to/from your home address for students in the assigned district.
- Out-of-district students are not eligible for transportation services.
- We do not provide convenience stops, stops for students' work, or stops to parents/guardians' places of work.
- Students can only ride a bus to addresses/contacts listed in their INFINITE CAMPUS Accounts.
- There are no bus passes to ride with other students on buses that a student is not currently assigned to ride.
- We ask that you submit a bus request only if your student will be using transportation services regularly. Placeholder requests can take up seats that could otherwise be assigned to students who need consistent transportation.
- If a student requires a temporary bus pass for a specific reason (such as a rainout or a one-time need), school administration may issue a pass on a case-by-case basis, depending on available space on the bus. If you are a dual placement request, as your child is 50/50 between parents or caregivers, and your child is in sports or other school-related activities, this does not apply.
Any stops not to and from the student’s home to approved ACS after school programs are subject to available space/capacity on that bus and are not guaranteed service during the first ten days of schools or for less than ten students attending..
Any stops, including after school care, where students are not domiciled, will not be assigned during the first ten days of school OR until ALL in-district students have been placed and bus capacity audits are completed.
Each request for after school will be determined on a case by case basis.
Once your bus assignment is processed, you will receive a confirmation email with your bus information and other details. This email will also include instructions on how to sign up for the Student Bus Planner Alerts via the Chipmunk school bus planner app.
